There are several activities for students.

Student Volunteers

The student volunteer program is a chance for students from around the world to participate in the conferences whilst assisting us in preparing and running the event. In return, student volunteers receive free registration and access to all sessions. See the Student Volunteer page for more information. The deadline for application is July 30th.

Programming Languages Mentoring Workshop

The SPLASH Programming Languages Mentoring Workshop provides mentoring sessions on how to prepare for and thrive in graduate school and in a research career, focusing both on cutting-edge research topics and practical advice. It aims to show students the many paths that they might take to enter and contribute to our research community.

Students interested in funding to attend should complete the short application linked here. Student funding for PLMW operates on a reimbursement model: applicants selected for support will have a portion of their travel expenses reimbursed by PLMW after the conference. PLMW highly encourages applicants from first time conference attendees and members of underrepresented groups in computing.

PLMW attendees will receive free registration and lunch during the main SPLASH conference.

There are two deadlines:

23 June 2024 AOE– applicants who will need a visa to visit the U.S. You can find out more about U.S. visa requirements here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas.html.

6 September 2024 AOE – applicants who do not need a visa to visit the U.S.
