Interactive spreadsheet programs can be constructed from small rulesets. ScrapSheets demonstrates a novel combination of (1) composable user-editable-rule behaviors (e.g. search/reduce) and (2) asynchronous rule evaluation (e.g. HTTP requests). Furthermore, its realtime rules-engine is implemented performantly via single-pass filtering/merging algorithms.
